How to Disable FiveM Canary
The FiveM Canary channel provides early access to new features but can cause stability issues, crashes, and compatibility problems with certain servers. For most players, switching to the Release channel provides a better gameplay experience.

- Change settings in the FiveM client:

- 3Find the "Update Channel" setting and make sure that Release is selected instead of Canary
- 4Restart FiveM for the changes to take effect. FiveM will automatically update to the Release version
- Manually edit configuration file (if FiveM won't launch):
- 1Close the FiveM client completely (check Task Manager to ensure all FiveM processes are terminated)

CitizenFX.ini
file:- 1Press Win+R to open the Run dialog
- 2Type
%localappdata%\FiveM\FiveM.app\CitizenFX.ini
and press Enter - 3If the file doesn't exist, look in
%localappdata%\FiveM\FiveM Application Data\CitizenFX.ini
- 3Edit the configuration file:
- Find the line that contains
UpdateChannel=canary
- Delete that line completely or change it to
UpdateChannel=release
- Save and close the file
- 4Restart FiveM and it should now use the Release channel
- If you're still having issues switching channels:
- Try reinstalling FiveM completely, selecting the Release channel during installation
- Check the FiveM forums or Discord for any known issues with channel switching
- Make sure your Windows user account has sufficient permissions to modify the FiveM files
